The likely mechanism by which confirmation bias works and in virtue of which “all observation is theory-laden” is true. We do not perceive sensory input directly but are constantly comparing it to computed expectation.
Extrapolating, people see what they want (expect) to see. One must have a sensitive error signal detector to escape self-delusion.
